Running stitch-resist in interlocking circles pattern

Technique: Hishaki-nui – Lines of running stitches usually on one layer of fabric. This process can also be done parallel to a fold to produce a symmetrical pattern. Process photos are from the book “Traditional Japanese Shibori Techniques” by Asako Sakakibara. 2012, which unfortunately is out of print.

Pattern: Shippo a pattern that references the seven treasures of Buddhism: gold, silver, lapis lazuli, agate, seashell, amber, and coral. It is a seamless repeatable pattern.
