A graduate of St. Lawrence University, John was a Hall-of-Fame athlete and coach, an outdoorsman, and motivational speaker. He was a champion wrestler, and coached his team to a NCAA Championship in 1988. For 15 years he was producer of Rod and Reel Streamside, a long-running PBS fishing series.
